Mercy

I owed Him ten thousand talents,
A sum I could never repay,
But the Lamb of God cancelled all my sin debt,
When He went to the cross that cruel day.

For the mercy of God met His justice,
And neither could be set aside.
But the Father’s mercy triumphed in Christ,
When the Prince of life suffered and died.

MT 2020

NKJV Psalm 86:5
For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.

Lending a Hand

A dollar clutched tightly
Never fed the poor,
And a key withheld
Never opened a door,
So will we pass by
Our fellow man ignore,
Or lend a hand
And their dignity restore.

MT 2019

Gal 2:10  NKJV
They desired only that we should remember the poor, the very thing which I also was eager to do.

Sowing

Many might think me less a man,
For the myriad tears I have shed,
But I remember my Savior-King,
Who wept at the tomb of the dead.

The world might think it weakness,
To cry out from the depths of the soul,
But I will continue to pour out my heart,
To the God who can cleanse and make whole.

MT 2019

NKJV Psa 126:5  Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.

Defuse

When rebuked or corrected
There are two paths to choose
One where we win
One where we lose
Admit fault and failure
Or cover up and excuse
And when we humbly receive it
Sin and pride will defuse.

MT 2018

NKJV  Rev 3:19  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

He Must Increase

It’s Him not me
Men need to see
For He not me
Died on the tree
And He not me
Reigns eternally
And He not me
Holds heaven’s key.

More of Him not me
Is my soul’s deep plea
More like Him not me
Is who I long to be
For He not me
Set this captive free
And He not me
Makes evil flee.

MT 2018

NKJV  John 3:30  He must increase, but I must decrease.

The Soul’s Sole Defender

He paid the price we could not pay,
One we could never render,
By dying once He died for all,
Humanities sole defender.

The Lamb of God was put to death,
Victorious in His surrender,
Was even with His dying breath,
Humanities sole defender.

He’s the Great Physician, heavens balm,
The soul’s perfect healer and mender,
He took our sin upon Himself,
As humanities soul defender.

MT 2018

NKJV  Psalm 103:1-2  Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!  Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:

To Express / No Stains-No Chains

To Express

To tell of all that my God has done,
The glory of His dearly beloved Son,
No human words can fully express,
Christ’s gift of love and righteousness.

No Stains- No Chains

Only the blood
Of Jesus Christ
Can cleanse our deep
Crimson stains,
And only His rising
From the grave
Can free us from
Shackles and chains.
