Changed

I serve the One so powerful,
He spoke everything into existence,
And changed my sinful stubborn heart,
With His gentle loving persistence.

Mark Tinjum  2015

Ezekiel 11:19 NKJV
[19] Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh,

Yet

So often I seek my own will and way,
Instead of God’s honor and glory,
Yet the Holy One uses even messed up me,
To play a part in His redemption love story.

1 Corinthians 3:9  NKJV
For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.

To Express / No Stains-No Chains

To Express

To tell of all that my God has done,
The glory of His dearly beloved Son,
No human words can fully express,
Christ’s gift of love and righteousness.

Mark Tinjum  –  2017

No Stains- No Chains

Only the blood
Of Jesus Christ
Can cleanse our deep
Crimson stains,
And only His rising
From the grave
Can free us from
Shackles and chains.

Mark Tinjum   –   2015

To Live and Die

If I live I live to Christ,
If I die Christ I gain,
And when I see Him face to face,
He’ll erase my tears and pain.

Clay / Dust

Clay

I’m a poor weak foolish vessel,
A broken jar fashioned out of clay,
That God in His infinite mercy and grace,
Is patiently teaching His way.

Dust

We the ransomed and redeemed of the Lord,
Who in God place faith and trust,
Are earthen vessels, jars of clay,
Precious children and dearly loved dust.

Mark Tinjum   –   2016

Shalom Israel

God says pray for the peace of Israel,
But not just for their physical border,
That their hearts would receive the Prince of Peace,
Who alone gives shalom and brings order.

Pledge of Allegiance / Vacation or Vocation?

Pledge of Allegiance

I owe my existence
And allegiance to One,
Who died on a cross
To make a rebel His son.

Vacation or Vocation?

God did not call us on this earth
To live life a permanent vacation,
We are called to be light to a darkened world,
Ambassadors of Christ our vocation.
