Sometimes they cut through barren ground
Sometimes they find fertile soil,
Often times they spill from repentant hearts
After soul searching nights of dark toil.

We love You because You first loved us
And died for our sin, guilt and shame,
In Your holy Word we will ever trust
And Your glory forever proclaim.

As Your blood flowed through Your human pores
You endured it in order to make us Yours
As the crown of thorns punctured Your regal head
For our sin Your royal blood flowed crimson red
As cold steel pierced sinless flesh and bone
You endured it so we would not face death alone
God formed the first man
From the dust,
As an earthen vessel of clay,
Then blew in his nostrils
The breath of life,
His image to set on display.
As a Master Artist
Shows his passion for life,
On canvas, gold, silver or stone,
So the Lord demonstrated
His wisdom and love,
By not leaving His vessel alone.
Both men received the same sentence,
Both would serve the same penalty,
One man would live in paradise,
The other too blinded to see.
One’s heart was stonily calloused,
His sins he refused to see,
The other fully acknowledging,
Why he’d been led to Mt. Calvary
