I had nothing to offer
Jesus offered me all
He offered new life
I offered the Fall
He offered salvation
And I followed His call
Christ offered Himself
His blood the cure-all.

When rebuked or corrected
There are two paths to choose
One where we win
One where we lose
Admit fault and failure
Or cover up and excuse
And when we humbly receive it
Sin and pride will defuse.

Men need to see

Is who I long to be

He loves me when I’m down
He loves me when I smile
He loves me when I frown
He loves me in sickness
He loves me in health
He loves me in poverty
He loves me in wealth
He loves me this second
He loves me forever
He loves with a passion
That death cannot sever.

I’m a billion year old speck of dust,
In random selection I place my trust,
Struck by lightning I’m now animated,
From the ground which I came I’m now liberated.
Out of the void and darkness and muck,
By random chance, by sheer dumb luck,
I now have life by a freak accident,
By Mother Nature not God I’ve been sent.
I dreamed of becoming a fish or a bird,
To say God made me is truly absurd,
I became whatever I wanted to be,
I am the captain and god of my own destiny.
But some fools think there’s a creative mind,
Behind life and creation and all mankind,
Whom they praise and worship and give the glory,
But this God has no place in my creation story.

The valley of the shadow of death
Is wide and dark and deep,
And the climb up the mountain of righteousness,
Is narrow, winding and steep,
But the Good Shepherd leads in both places,
For He loves and cares for His sheep,
And no matter what terrain or trials we face,
His lambs He will faithfully keep.
