Friend or foe?

The enemy plots to control the minds,
And hearts and souls of men,
To tell them what to say and do,
And why and where and when.

But we all have the will and ability,
To make the one truly great choice,
To follow Jesus as Savior and Lord,
And not heed the enemy’s voice.

For you can choose your allegiance
You can follow the Friend or the foe,
one wants your death and destruction,
One loves you and wants to make whole.

Lord Please

Lord please make my life a sweet song,
That You would be pleased to sing,
A harmony and a melody,
That is fit for the Kings of kings,
Lord may you be pleased to rejoice over me,
With a song only you and I know,
May my life be a hymn of worship to You,
In tune with the grace You bestow,
And when the final note is sung out,
On this shadow world down here below
I’m so glad I will have all eternity,
To find new ways to praise and extol!

The Thought

Oh the thought that the Savior loves me,
Overwhelms me and fills me with joy,
God’s love, grace and peace- a continual feast!
That the world cannot steal or destroy.

The Master’s Call

Christ doesn’t always call us to do
What we want or what we expect,
He calls us to put to death our pride
When we want hold on and protect.

He calls us to turn the other cheek
And to go the extra mile,
Not grumbling or begrudgingly
And with no trace of malice or guile.

He calls us to love our enemies
As we would love our friends,
He preached that love is His Kingdom law
On which all else rests and depends.

So as you walk this pilgrim path
Seek peace and keep love in your heart,
And Christ will empower each move you make
But it’s up to you to start.

Whose Children?

Children scrounge for a morsel in garbage dumps
While we sit on our piles of gold,
We walk our safe and pleasant streets
While God’s children are bought and sold,
We  sweep it all under the carpet
As Christ commands for orphans be bold,
So what will we answer the King of kings
When He comes back as Scripture foretold,
I can’t speak for anyone anyone else
But my excuses are getting old,
For where would we be if Christ treated us
So callously, meanly, so cold?
We’d be naked, hopeless and helpless
With no Samaritan to help on the road.

The Knock

Countless children orphaned,
At the hands of injustice and war,
Victims of mankind’s lust and greed,
While we’re busy at play and ignore,
But Christ watches over and weeps,
At the plight of the helpless and poor,
Will we show them His love, grace and mercy?
Or ignore their knocks on our door?

Beyond

Amazingly, wonderfully beautiful,
Gracious beyond all belief,
Gentle, loving Lamb of God,
With His dying breath pardoned a thief.
