Whispers and Thunder
Sometimes the Almighty whispers,
Other times His voice booms like thunder,
Knowing God condescends to speak to men,
Fills my heart with sheer joy and pure wonder.

Stars and Scars
He’s as close as the softest whisper,
Yet as far as the most distant stars,
He is shrouded in a cloud of unknowing,
Yet revealed through Calvary’s cruel scars.

Self-Made
If our self-made kingdoms
Came crashing down,
Where would our help
And our hope be found?

It’s impossible to fathom,

Why the holy High King of the Universe,
Would die to call me His friend.
