They scorned Him, mocked Him, called Him names,
And did not believe His works or claims,
As He raised the dead and gave sight to the blind,
And was merciful, gracious, good and kind,
Though they deemed Him deserving of a cruel death,
He forgave their hated with His dying breath,
For they knew not the gravity of what they had done,
By killing God’s precious and dearly loved Son,
But to all who draw near with a repentant heart,
He gives abundant mercy, and a brand-new start.
